‘Won’t join Newcastle United’ - Fabrizio Romano transfer update as £26m star undergoes medical
The Newcastle United linked midfielder is on the verge of sealing a summer transfer.

Borussia Dortmund are set to complete the signing of Felix Nmecha from Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg.
Former Manchester City academy product Nmecha had emerged as a summer target for Newcastle United before they prioritised a £55million move for Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.

Whilst Newcastle negotiated a transfer for Tonali, Dortmund pressed ahead with plans to find Jude Bellingham’s replacement following the England international’s £88.5million switch to Real Madrid.


And as per Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund are close to acquiring Nmecha, who is undergoing a medical after a deal worth £26m plus add-ons was agreed with Wolfsburg.
And in the tweet posted by Romano, the Italian transfer expert namechecked Newcastle.
“Borussia Dortmund are set to complete Felix Nmecha deal, it’s done,” he said. “Package worth €30m add ons included, Wolfsburg accepted as @RNBVB called.

“#BVB Nmecha signs until 2028; won’t join Newcastle as they will unveil Sandro Tonali today. Medical tests almost completed for Felix Nmecha.”
Indeed, Newcastle have officially announced the capture of Tonali around 10 days after sporting director Dan Ashworth and head of recruitment Steve Nickson held face-to-face with Milan officials.
The 23-year-old becomes United’s first major summer signing after putting pen to paper on an initial five-year contract.
