Mehrdad Ghodoussi has paid tribute to Newcastle United fans for the “incredible” atmosphere they generated in the 3-1 win over Everton.
Fan group Wor Flags set the tone for the evening with flag displays in the Leazes End and the Gallowgate End, which saw the return of Europe’s biggest surfer flag ‘We are the Mags’.

And the pre-match atmosphere carried on into the night as the St James’ Park crowd roared their team onto a hugely important victory.
Indeed, Eddie Howe’s side came from behind to beat the Toffees and climb out of the relegation zone for the first time since early October.

That’s now back-to-back victories for United in the top-flight following their 1-0 success at Leeds United, 18 days ago.
Jamaal Lascelles scored an own goal but hit back moments later as his header cannoned onto the crossbar before hitting Mason Holgate and crossing the line.

A first Premier League goal in Newcastle colours for Ryan Fraser put United 2-1 up, while it was left to Kieran Trippier to wrap up the three points with a stunning free-kick on 80 minutes.
St James’ Park was a cauldron of noise, an atmosphere Ghodoussi was there to witness from the directors box.
Ghodoussi tweeted: “To our supporters last night….you are “Newcastle United”, you were incredible!
