Will Newcastle United’s incredible rebirth under the management of Eddie Howe continue into 2023? Ask many fans and they’ll tell you of a quiet confidence in the Magpies, who take on Leeds United at home in the latest round of Premier League games.

The fortress known as St. James Park throws open its gates this Saturday, December 31st with a kick off time of 3pm. “Sensational”, that’s how pundits have viewed the revolution under Eddie Howe as Newcastle have won their last five games in a row, leading them to currently sit third in the Premier League table.

Those wins include scalps against Tottenham Hotspur, themselves vying for the Premier League title, and Chelsea, who won the UEFA Champions League in 2021. Leeds United are continuing to ease into life without Marcelo Biesla, as Jesse Marsch has had an intermittent season.

When Leeds aren’t barely losing to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur (3-4) or Fulham (2-3), they’re pulling off upsets against Liverpool - who they bested 2-1 back in October. History though has shown Leeds to be an uncanny team for the Magpies to play in the Premier League, however.

In their last five encounters in the top flight, Leeds have bested Newcastle three times, including a 5-2 drubbing at Elland Road back in 2020. But this is a very new and improved Newcastle United - will it be six from six after Saturday afternoon?

Newcastleworld takes a look at the ways, if any, you can watch Newcastle’s home game against Leeds United in the latest Premier League gameweek.

Newcastle United vs Leeds United has been selected for a 3pm kick-off time on Saturday and so it won’t be shown live on UK television. This is to comply with the ‘blackout’ regulation on televised coverage between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on a Saturday.

Under the rules, broadcasting rights are restricted for clubs in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. Not all is lost, though, as highlights will be available for Sky Sports subscribers on the Sky Sports app around 15-30 minutes after the final whistle.

The flagship BBC show Match of the Day will also show extensive highlights of the game along with all the other Friday and Saturday fixtures on BBC One on Saturday evening at 10pm, and then available on the BBC iPlayer.
