North Shields based bowling brand, Gutterball Alley, have transformed their bowling lanes with augmented reality technology that brings the lanes to life.

Each of the next-gen bowling lanes features a display that projects interactive visuals as you bowl. The moving graphics add a whole new dimension to bowling as they react to your ball’s movements.

You can take your pick from a range of quirky augmented reality themes - the motion videos feature everything from flames, to water and bold patterns. Once selected, the bowling lane comes alive and adds a great visual element to the classic game.

The slick new bowling technology has just been implemented across all 16 lanes in their Rotary Way venue.

Further investment to the site will follow hot on the heels of the new lanes - with a new look arcade section due in the new year; as well as LED crazy golf experience; VR gaming and much more to come.

Graeme Smith, COO, said “Think you know Bowling? Think again. The augmented reality technology is an absolute game changer.

The busy bowling location boasts 16 lanes, a large arcade area; mini golf; ping pong; pool; darts; a bar; a ‘Burgers & Bains’ menu and even karaoke rooms.

The venue will also play host to a range of family activities over the half term - including meet and greets with Disney Encanto’s Bruno and Mirabel. For more information head to the website www.gutterball.co.uk.
