In addition to the midweek top spot, the update confirms that it is a one horse race to the title according to the Charts Company, with the North Tyneside local having sold more than 20,000 more records than second place – Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ – in addition to selling more units than the rest of the top ten combined.

The update gives fans an idea of how the chart is shaping up ahead of the full announcement on Friday evening from 4pm on Radio 1. In addition to the album release, this week sees Fender release tickets to a Spring UK tour which is set to follow his dates across October and November 2021. These dates conclude with a homecoming gig at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on April 5.

Pre sale tickets for the tour are available from Wednesday 12 October with general sale tickets available from Friday 15.
