The singer-songwriter is heading to Newcastle as part of his first UK tour since the Covid pandemic and he’s back with a new album.

The superstar singer is heading to Newcastle this week as part of his Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent tour, and here’s all you need to know about the night.

The tour is named after the singer's second album which was announced back in October. It is set to be released on Friday, May 19. He will be hoping to replicate the success of his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent which took the number one spot in the UK album charts in 2019.

The hilarious Scottish singer will be playing in Newcastle on Saturday, January 21. The tour started on Saturday, January 14 with the Tyneside date being the fifth show of the run.

This tour is the first full set of UK dates since the Coronavirus pandemic and will offer fans the first chance to see Capaldi since This Is Tomorrow Festival in 2019 and his first Tyneside headline slot since a show at Newcastle University Students’ Union in November 2018.

Raye is supporting Capaldi across the UK. The 25 year old British singer has already had an incredible start to the year after her single ‘Escapism’ reached number one in the UK singles chart to kick off the year. Her debut album My 21st Century Blues is released in February.

Are tickets still available for Lewis Capaldi in Newcastle?

At the time of writing seats in just one block remain available for the show with the rest of the arena sold out. These seats are in section BL217 to the left when looking at the stage and are available through Ticketmaster.

The Utilita Arena website says doors for the show will open at 6pm with no further information. It is expected that Raye will start her set at 7:30 before the main set begins at 9pm.

Where to park for Newcastle’s Utilita Arena?

There are 600 official car parking places to the rear of the arena which can be reached either by Arena Way or Railway Terrace to the east.

If this car park is full, the arena recommends gig goes use the NCP car park next to the Arena, with its entrance on Redheugh Bridge Road. The usual fee for events is £8.

Other car parks around the arena include Arena Square Car Park on Ord Street and the Times Square Car Park which can be accessed from Railway Street.
