Almost exactly two years after they played Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, Stereophonics are heading back to Newcastle’s largest music venue this week as part of their tour to promote new album ‘Oochya!’

The Welsh guitar band last played the Arena on March 9 2020, a matter of weeks before lockdown measures were introduced across the UK.

They will hit the North East on Thursday March 24.

Oochya! is the band’s 12th studio album and was released on March 4, hitting the number one spot in the album charts upon release. It is the eighth number one album from the band who formed in 1992.

Who will be supporting Stereophonics on their UK tour?

The night at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena will open with a set from KT Tunstall. The Scottish singer-songwriter is best known for her 2005 single Suddenly I see and released her last full length album, Wax, in 2018.

What are the set times for Stereophonics’ concert in Newcastle?

It has been confirmed by the venue that doors for the gig will open at 6:30pm while the opening nights of the tour have seen KT Tunstall take the stage at 7:30pm and Stereophonics start their set at around 8:45pm.

Anyone still wanting to attend the gig is in luck as tickets remain available throughout the arena.

Seated tickets are priced at both £55.15 and £66.40 depending on the block while standing tickets can be picked up for £55.15.

Official ticket trading app Twickets also has tickets available for sale.

Where to park at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena?

There are 600 official car parking places to the rear of the arena which can be reached either by Arena Way or Railway Terrace to the east.

If this car park is full, the arena recommends gig goes use the NCP car park next to the Arena, with its entrance on Redheugh Bridge Road.

The usual fee for events is £8.

Other car parks around the arena include Arena Square Car Park on Ord Street and the Times Square Car Park which can be accessed from Railway Street.

The Newcastle gig will be the band’s fifth night of the tour, so fans will have a rough idea of what to expect from the setlist.
