Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2022 returns to Channel 4 next month with famous faces including Newcastle-born television personality Amber Gill, as they battle it out on the survival reality television show.

Once again, the show will feature an all-star line-up ranging from Olympic gold medallist, athlete to TV personality, with the largest celebrity line-up and longest series to date.

Amber Gill, known as the winner of the fifth series of Love Island, will be competing against actresses Maisie Smith and Jennifer Ellison, along with professional boxer Shannon Courtenay and paralympic high jumper, Jonathan Broom-Edwards MBE, to name a few.

Upon being selected as one of the contestants, she said: “Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is a massive test of who you are as an individual.

Returning to run the condensed selection course are ex-special forces operators from the UK and the US - chief instructor, Tudy Reyes and his team of directing staff, Jason Fox, Mark Billingham and Remi Adeleke.

So who is Amber Gill and what is Celebrity SAS: Who Dares wins 2022 about? Here is everything you need to know.

Who is Amber Gill and what else is she known for?

Born in Newcastle, Amber Gill, 25, first appeared on television as a contestant on the fifth series of Love Island. Prior to her television career, she worked as a beauty therapist at a salon which she ran alongside her aunt.

Since her appearance on Love Island, she has gone on to make guest appearances on various television series including Love Island: Aftersun, This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, Lorraine, and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

She has also released a clothing line with Misspap.

Gill was revealed as the co-host of The Full Treatment on ITV2 in June 2021, alongside fellow Love Island winner Kem Cetinay.

Gill was also approached to judge a Mills & Boon writing competition looking for stories from underrepresented ethnic groups.

She was later asked if she wanted to write her own book, which Gill described as a surprising opportunity as she felt underrepresented in the media as a child and wanted the book to be about a Black love story.

What happens in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2022?

This time around, the show will take place in the blistering heat of the Jordanian desert - one of the harshest training environments on the planet.

The show pushes participants against tough surroundings all around the world in a shorter two-week training course designed to emulate a number of components of the official United Kingdom Special Forces selection course.

The show’s directing staff puts the recruits through dangerous and punishing military conditions while assessing their mental and physical abilities with a series of tests.

According to Channel 4, there will be no special treatment for the celebrities. Instead, each celebrity recruit will be tested to their physical and psychological limits, as they confront surprising truths about themselves, to discover their true selves.

The first of seven episodes will premiere on Channel 4 on Sunday, September 4 at 9pm.
