UK singer Ellie Goulding has announced a brand new tour. The Higher Than Heaven tour is set to come to Europe and the UK this autumn - with a date in Newcastle booked as Goulding makes a triumphant comeback after a brief hiatus.

Last month, fans were given an exclusive preview of the new album when Ellie returned to the stage for two sold-out intimate shows at London’s iconic KOKO in Camden. The Evening Standard branded the performances as ‘a glorious display’.

Goulding’s fifth studio album Higher Than Heaven is due for release on April 7. It comes as her latest collaboration with DJ Calvin Harris ‘Miracle’ has done very well, peaking at number two on the UK charts.

Higher Than Heaven has seen Ellie enlist some of pop music’s finest to craft the album with her including Greg Kurstin (Sia, Maggie Rogers, Elton John), Jessie Shatkin (Charli XCX, Years & Years), Koz (Sam Ryder, Madonna, Dua Lipa) and Andrew Wells (Halsey, Yungblud).

As of 2023, Ellie has celebrated 10 platinum singles, three number one albums, two BRIT Awards, a Grammy Award, and a Golden Globe nomination. She has sold over 27 million albums and 218 million singles, amassing 43 billion streams worldwide.

When is Ellie Goulding performing in Newcastle?

Newcastle is one of the first performances of Goulding’s UK and European tour, coming after her performances in Dublin and Glasgow. She will be performing her new album at the O2 City Hall on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Tickets to see Goulding in Newcastle will go on presale first before going on general sale. People can access the pre-sale via Live Nation from 9am on April 5. Then, tickets will go on general sale from 9am on April 6 through Live Nation.
