Live At Central will bring an array of great bands and artists to the heart of Newcastle this summer.

The one day festival aims to celebrate the UK’s indie music scene and all it has to offer.

Central Park will host a long list of events this summer for all to enjoy, from DJ’s, to one off gigs, showings of sport games and much more.

Live at Central promises to be up there with the best with the festival organisers promising to bring a great day to Newcastle’s Central Park.

456 Live promoter, Caitlin Maddison said: "We can’t be happier with the line up for Live at Central which we’re sure is going to put Central Park on the map as the place to go for the best indie and emerging music in the North East.”

So, when will the Live at Central festival kick off?

When is the Live at Central Festival ?

The Festival will take place on Sunday 7 August. The gates are scheduled to open at 12:30pm.

The event will end at 11pm.

Where is the Live at Central Festival?

The event will take place at Time Square’s Central Park in Newcastle.

The official address for the festival is: Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AD, UK.

What is Central Park?

Central Park has become a summer staple for Newcastle locals and welcomes people from further afield.

The location is open seven days a week from midday to midnight and offers a range of events and activities for people.

There is an outdoor drinking area, local music, comedy acts, street food and a covered area that can hold up to 800 people.

Can I still get tickets?

Tickets are still available for the show with prices starting as low as £30. There will be an additional handling fee of £3.60.

What is the line-up for Live at Central?

The company organising the event announced that popular indie rock band Circa waves would be headlining the event.

Circa waves are known for bringing high energy shows to any stage they take on. The band is made up of frontman Kieran Shudall, guitarist Joe Falconer, bassist Sam Rourke and drummer Colin Jones.

The band has garnered a huge following since forming in Liverpool in 2013.

Their acclaimed debut single Get Away/Good For Me was released in 2013, and went on to release their debut EP Young Chasers in 2015.

Their most recent album Sad Happy was released in 2020, which fans will no doubt be excited to hear live.

Caitlin Maddison of 456 Live Promoter released a statement and discussed the headliner: “Circa Waves are the perfect headliner for the event which is all about celebrating the amazing indie music that the UK and the North East have to offer.”

How can I get to Live at Central?

By Train

The festival location is about a five minute walk from the city’s main train station so for those travelling locally or further afield it couldn’t be more straightforward.

Central Station is a popular arrival point, and many train routes pass through it from all over the UK everyday.

As well as this, Central Station is home to a metro station, the local rail transport that runs throughout Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and our coastlines.
