The iconic MOBO Awards are coming to Newcastle in 2025 - and it isn’t just the main show.

Next week the MOBO Awards head to Newcastle and there is plenty going on.

After taking place in Sheffield last year, the awards hit the North East for the first time in 2025 with the main award show taking place on Tuesday, February 18.

However, there is plenty more going on across the city to celebrate the awards heading to Newcastle. The award show itself acts as more of an end to events with some of Tyneside’s best venues taking on the role of hosts for up and coming artists, music showcases and more.

This is the full run down of events for the MOBO Awards Fringe for 2025.

  • MOBO Fringe Launch at The Glasshouse – Thursday, February 13. Celebrating local businesses and live performances including Azula Bandit, Hannabiell & Midnight Blue, Kay Greyson & EK, Malik Abdul, Nadedja, Reali-T, Sisi and Voices of Virtue
  • Live at The Grove – Friday, February 14. R&B Karaoke and performances from Georgia May, Hunni, Jamilah, MannytheMANN, Mcxxne, Sengi, Simba Shore and The97RENN.
  • WHQ and Friends at World Headquarters – Saturday February 15. DJ sets, live performances and special guests including Azula Bandit, Dairo Events & Friends, WESTY and Yemz.
  • BBC Introducing NE X MOBO Showcase at The Glasshouse – Sunday, February 16. Curated by BBC Introducing North East with live performances featuring unforgettable collaborations.
  • MOBO Music Summit at The Glasshouse – Monday, February 17. Full day of industry led panels and cultural conversations, workshops, demo listening sessions.
  • MOBO Unsung Class of 2025 Showcase at Pilgrim (formerly Hoochie Coochie) - Monday, February 17 MOBO's Class of Unsung for 2025 performing live.

Fringe workshops will also be taking place on skills including a writing camp, open DJ decks and talks on the hourney of major labels and the social and cultural side of the music and culture celebrated at he MOBOs.

Some wokshops will also be taking place in schools and young people’s programmes across Newcastle.

All MOBO Fringe events are free-of-charge, apart from the WHQ & Friends at World Headquarters where usual admission costs apply. All places must be booked in advance.
