Newcastle Comic Con 2022: when is it, where will it be held and what guests will be attending?

Newcastle Comic Con will return to Newcastle once again this year.

The event that sees thousands of fans from across the country flock to the city to see some of the best comic based attractions.

Newcastle Comic Con will bring together an array of opportunities to meet with some prominent names involved in the likes of Star Wars and Doctor Who.

So when is Newcastle Comic Con?

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming event.

When is it?

Comic Con Newcastle will be held on Sunday 3 July.

The event will run from 11am to 5pm.

Where will it be held?

The event will be held at St James’ Park.

The official address for the event is: St James’ Park, Strawberry Place, Newcastle, NE1 4ST.

Can I still get tickets?

Tickets are still available via Unleashed tickets. At the time of publishing tickets were priced at £8 per person.

Under 12’s will be able to get tickets for a discounted price of £5.

All tickets have a £2.95 postage packing and booking fee applied at checkout. Postage fee is a one-off flat rate charge no matter how many tickets you purchase.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the door on the day of the event. Tickets bought on the door will have to be purchased with cash only

What attractions will be there?

As well as an array of hot and cold food served all day from local vendors, the event will host a variety of attractions including some of the following:

As well as this there will be local traders selling the best products to satisfy even the biggest geek.

What guest appearances will there be?

As usual the event will host a great panel of guests. This year’s guests include:

• Peter Davison (Doctor Who)
• Sarah Sutton (Doctor Who)
• Arie Dekker (Venom 2, Star Wars: Solo)
• Samantha Alleyne (Star Wars Disney)
• Billy Mansell (Snatch, Alien Covenant)

Nona, who is a comic book author, will also be in attendance.

The event asks that customers remember that there will be a charge for autographs.

Additionally, due to work and personal commitments guests can cancel their appearance at any time. This is something that Unleashed Events have no control over and cannot be held responsible for.

What is Comic Con?

Comic con is a comic book convention which is an event that focuses on comic books and comic book culture, in which comic book fans gather to meet creators, experts, and each other.

These events first came to fruition in the late 1930’s, and have since grown into a global phenomenon.

They are multi day events and commonly feature a variety of activities, panels and are known to host some of the best cosplay competitions in the business.

The conventions are also used as a vehicle for industry, in which publishers, distributors, and retailers represent their comic-related releases.

Comic conventions occur all over the world and now feature a large range of pop culture and entertainment elements including anime, manga, collectible card games and video games as well as comics.

The biggest comic con is usually known as the San Diego Comic-Con which features multi-genre entertainment and has grown massively in popularity since it first began in 1970.

According to Forbes, the convention is the "largest convention of its kind in the world;" In recent years the San Diego based event has become the stage for which many franchises, most notably The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), use to announce upcoming projects and release exclusive unseen content to fans.
