Olly Murs will headline Newcastle Racecourse after an action-packed day of racing next summer.

The 'Dance With Me Tonight' singer will play a Live After Racing show on Saturday, July 22 2022.

The star's set will follow an afternoon full of horse racing at the famous Gosforth venue.

Speaking about the Newcastle show, Olly said: "I’ve had a fantastic summer this year finally getting back out on the road and playing music, something we’ve all been missing.

"You can’t get much better than an open-air concert on a summer’s evening – bring it on!"

Murs has played shows across the county this year, including stops at Newmarket Racecourse, Castle Park in Colchester and the Northern Echo Arena in Darlington.

He also appeared on fundraiser Soccer Aid, captaining England in their defeat to the Rest of the World XI.

Olly, who rose to fame on ITV reality show The X Factor, is also recording new music in the studio ready for next summer's shows.

The singer already has hits such as 'Up' and 'Heart Skips A Beat' under his belt in what has been an award-winning career.

Known for his cheeky smile and happy-go-lucky attitude, Murs is sought after by booking agents to close events such as Live After Racing at Newcastle Racecourse.

Gates are set to open on the day from 11 am with the first race starting at 1:40 pm.

Racing will then finish at 5:05 pm before the evening's music begins, although official timings remain to be confirmed.

July 2022 may seem a long way away for racing and music fans to be planning ahead, but tickets for the show are on sale from this week.

Fans can get their hands on tickets from Wednesday, September 22 at 9 am through O2 pre-sale.

General sale will then follow on Friday, September 24 at 9 am.
