The Late Shows set to return with ceilidhs, silent discos and medieval ale

Free late-night culture crawl The Late Shows is set to return for its fifteenth year on 19th and 20th May.

Across two days, over 40 cultural venues across Newcastle and Gateshead will host orginial, fun and creative events.

Toffee Factory and The Cumberland Arms will host a ceilidh, Ouseburn Farm will celebrate the great old West and the Discovery Museum will be turned into a theme park.

Bill Griffiths, Head of Programmes & Collecions at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, said: “We are excited to bring the Late Shows back again for 2023.

“It is a popular event and a fantastic way to try out the brilliant range of cultural experiences on offer in Newcastle and Gateshead.”

Other events include creating a 15 foot friendship bracelet at Shieldfield Art Works, enjoying medieval ale and storytelling at Newcastle Castle and a silent disco at Newcastle City Library.

Maximo Park’s Paul Smith will also be performing a DJ set at High Bridge Works.
