Bamburgh Castle named in list of top UK Beaches by Tripadvisor

Bamburgh Beach has been rated as the eighth top beach across Europe by TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards.

It is one of four coastal sites across the UK to be included in the list, which ranks the best beaches across the continent.

Luskentyre on Scotland’s Isle of Harris was named 7th in Europe while Porthminster Beach in St Ives, Cornwall and Dorset's Weymouth Beach came in 11th and 19th respectively.

The awards are decided through the ratings a tourist attraction receives throughout the year in addition to the algorithm which ranks the attractions.

Overall, Bambugh Beach has a full 5.0 rating on the site from 233 reviews, 205 of which rank the site as the top description of ‘excellent.’

The ratings and reviews which helped Bamburgh qualify for the awards were gathered between January 1 to December 31.

The town accompanying the beach has already been named in The Times' top 30 prettiest villages in the UK and this is another fantastic achievement for the region.
