Central Bar, at The Central Hotel, Half Moon Lane, Gateshead, Tyne And Wear was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 4.

And 1771 Club House, at 1 Hexham Road, Swalwell, Whickham was given a score of three on December 7.

It means that of Gateshead's 173 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 110 (64%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
