New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Gateshead’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Naz, at Af Blakemore, Earlsway, Team Valley, Gateshead was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on November 28.

And The Bank Bar & Restaurant, at 516 Durham Road, Low Fell, Gateshead was also given a score of four on November 28.

It means that of Gateshead's 262 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 219 (84%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
