A Gateshead drinking establishment has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Ye Olde Cannon, a pub, bar or nightclub at 435 Durham Road, Low Fell, Gateshead was given the maximum score after assessment on April 13, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Gateshead's 165 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 102 (62%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
