A Gateshead restaurant has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

A Gateshead restaurant has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Bonny Comet, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 490 Durham Road, Gateshead was given the maximum score after assessment on July 26, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Gateshead's 247 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 201 (81%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
