A Gateshead restaurant has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Golden Marigold, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Marigold Court, Gateshead, Tyne And Wear was given the maximum score after assessment on March 1, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Gateshead's 251 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 202 (80%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
