A Gateshead takeaway has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Mama Rosa, a takeaway at Mannering House, Smailes Lane, Rowlands Gill, Tyne And Wear was given the score after assessment on March 23, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Gateshead's 203 takeaways with ratings, 122 (60%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
