A Gateshead takeaway has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Happy Days Express, a takeaway at Unit 3 Whickham Industrial Estate, Swalwell, Whickham was given the score after assessment on December 13, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Gateshead's 200 takeaways with ratings, 122 (61%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
