A Gateshead takeaway has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Bill Quay Tandoori & Eastern Promise, a takeaway at 78 Station Road, Bill Quay, Gateshead was given the score after assessment on January 12, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Gateshead's 201 takeaways with ratings, 120 (60%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
