Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to five Gateshead restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of Gateshead’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of Gateshead’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

• Rated 5: Royal Mail (Catering) at Earlsway, Team Valley, Gateshead; rated on February 16

• Rated 5: No.6 Coffee House at 6 Elvaston Road, Ryton Central, Ryton; rated on February 14

• Rated 5: Sambuca Trinity Square Limited at 4 Trinity Square, Gateshead; rated on February 14

It means that of Gateshead's 256 similar establishments with ratings, 214 (84%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
