Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to two Gateshead restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Gateshead’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Gateshead’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

Asda (Cafe), at Gibside Way, Metrocentre, Gateshead was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 11.

And The Crossing Coffee Bar, at Speedline Tyres, Addison Industrial Estate, Stella, Ryton was also given a score of five on December 8.

It means that of Gateshead's 260 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 208 (80%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
