And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A1, from 8pm July 18 2022 to 6am March 10 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, junction 70 Dunston to junction 74 Scotswood - carriageway closure for communications on behalf of Highways England.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

A1, from 7pm February 1 to 6am February 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, junction 72 Swalwell, exit and entry slip road closures for works off network.
