This year's break will be from Monday, October 26 until Friday, October 3.

Now that international travel is expected to be easier than in the summer, some may be hoping to sneak in a trip abroad.

Newcastle Airport offers flights to destinations across Europe including some bargain trips on budget airlines.

That said, half term can be a notoriously pricey time of year to holiday.

With airlines knowing the population are desperate for a late summer holiday and raising the prices to the popular European beach resorts, it may be easier to stay closer to home for a shorter city break.
