Bad news as food hygiene ratings handed to two Newcastle takeaways

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s bad news for them both.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s bad news for them both.

Jordys Peri Peri / Burger and Bites, at 75 Shields Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a zero-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 24.

And Jordys pizzaz and kebab, at 4 Red Hall Drive, Newcastle Upon Tyne was also given a score of zero on April 24.

It means that of Newcastle's 305 takeaways with ratings, 196 (64%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
