Food hygiene ratings given to two Newcastle restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Golden Gate, at 260 Fossway, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 10.

And Shahe Tandoori Restaurant, at 30 Wansbeck Road South, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given a score of one on March 10.

It means that of Newcastle's 660 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 470 (71%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
