Food hygiene ratings given to two Newcastle restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Spicy China, at Unit 26 Westerhope Small Business Park Redburn Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a one-out-of-five rating after assessment on September 28.

And Yummy Cottage, at 72 High Street, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne was also given a score of one on September 28.

It means that of Newcastle's 673 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 496 (74%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
