Food hygiene ratings handed to two Newcastle restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Fossway Tandoori, at 118 Roman Avenue, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 25.

And Red Diner Oriental Restaurant, at 38 - 42 Stowell Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given a score of three on December 30.

It means that of Newcastle's 681 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 495 (73%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
