New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Oli And Joes, at 427 - 429 Stamfordham Road, Westerhope, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on August 1.

And The Siam Zaa, at The Siam Zaa 4 Waterloo Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne was also given a score of four on August 1.

It means that of Newcastle's 666 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 488 (73%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
