New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Neighbourhood Coffee, at 214 Chillingham Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on November 21.

And Samosa and sweet factory, at Unit 6 Condercum House 171 West Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given a score of three on November 21.

It means that of Newcastle's 669 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 475 (71%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
