Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to two Newcastle restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Newcastle’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

Liosi's Sicilian Cafe Bar, at Unit 4 Swordfish House Amethyst Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 4.

And Liosi’s Italian Bistro, at Liosi'S Cafe Bistro Italiano Ground Floor Saville House 5 Saville Place, Newcastle Upon Tyne was also given a score of five on September 5.

It means that of Newcastle's 671 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 480 (72%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
