New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to three of Newcastle’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

• Rated 5: Subway at Unit 2 Rotary Way, Newcastle Upon Tyne; rated on October 16

It means that of Newcastle's 302 similar establishments with ratings, 187 (62%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
