A Newcastle restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

A Newcastle restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Newton Cantonese Chop Suey House, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 160 Newton Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given the score after assessment on July 3, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Newcastle's 664 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 490 (74%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
