A Newcastle restaurant has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Hanahana Japanese Restaurant, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 45 Bath Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given the score after assessment on October 20, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Newcastle's 684 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 502 (73%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
