A Newcastle restaurant has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

A Newcastle restaurant has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Nergiz, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 40 Elswick Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given the score after assessment on February 28, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Newcastle's 660 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 471 (71%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
