A Newcastle takeaway has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Subway, a takeaway at 103 Saint Georges Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne was given the maximum score after assessment on February 14, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Newcastle's 310 takeaways with ratings, 198 (64%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
