New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of North Tyneside’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Buddha Lounge, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 76 Front Street, Tynemouth, Tyne And Wear was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 17.

And Nichol And Cau, a takeaway at 6 Railway Street, North Shields, Tyne And Wear was given a score of four on December 14.
