New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of North Tyneside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of North Tyneside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

Cassia Sambuca, at 52 Bell Street, North Shields, Tyne And Wear was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 20.

And Cafe My Place, at Cafe Level 2, White Swan Centre, Citadel East, Killingworth was also given a score of five on June 19.

It means that of North Tyneside's 283 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 225 (80%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
