New Year roadworks: two road closures for North Tyneside drivers this week

North Tyneside motorists who are heading out and about to celebrate New Years with friends and family will have two road closures to watch out for this week.

North Tyneside motorists who are heading out and about to celebrate New Years with friends and family will have two road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with both of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm December 6 2021 to 6am April 2 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Holystone, carriageway closures for structures work.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm January 7 to 6am January 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Silverlink interchange, Lane closure for safety fence repairs,.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
