A North Tyneside drinking establishment has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Alexandra, a pub, bar or nightclub at Queen Alexandra Road, North Shields, Tyne And Wear was given the maximum score after assessment on December 15, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of North Tyneside's 146 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 125 (86%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
