A North Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Sorrento Ristorante Italiano, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 150 Park View, Whitley Bay, Tyne And Wear was given the score after assessment on August 3, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of North Tyneside's 281 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 222 (79%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
