A North Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Black Drop Coffee @ PaddlePod Whitley Bay, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Paddlepod, Marden Road, Whitley Bay, Tyne And Wear was given the maximum score after assessment on January 19, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of North Tyneside's 269 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 219 (81%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
