North Tyneside's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

A19, from 8pm January 29 to 6am January 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Killingworth to Moor farm lane closures for drainage work.

A19, from 8pm January 30 to 6am January 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 North and southbound, Killingworth to Holystone lane closures to slip roads for drainage work.

A19, from 8pm January 31 to 6am February 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Killingworth to Moor farm lane closures for drainage work.

A19, from 8pm February 7 to 6am February 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 eastbound, Seaton Burn to Dudley lane, lane closures and diversion route for works off network.

A1, from 10.30pm February 7 to 1am February 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1 northbound, junction 79 entry slip carriageway closure, Electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
