North Tyneside road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm July 2 to 6am November 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closures and 24hr lane closures for resurfacing works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A19, from 8pm October 12 to 6am October 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 clockwise Silverlink, Lane closure for inspection/survey works.

A1, from 8pm October 16 to 6am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, lane two closures, junction 79 to junction 80 for electrical works.

A19, from 6am October 23 to 6am October 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound, Howdon to Howdon, Carriage way closure for inspection/survey on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
