North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm July 2 to 6am December 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closures and 24hr lane closures for resurfacing works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A19, from 8pm December 5 to 6am December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, Lane closure for Horticultural work.

A19, from 9am to 4pm on December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): Mill Lane underpass eastbound and westbound, Annitsford to Seghill, carriageway closure for inspection/survey on behalf of National Highways off network.

A19, from 8pm December 6 to 6am December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Silverlink to Holystone, Lane closure for horticultural work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
