North Tyneside road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start this week:

A19, from 8pm July 25 to 6am July 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closure for electrical works.

A19, from 8pm July 26 to 6am July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Moor farm to Fisherlane, Lane closure for horticulture works.

A19, from 10.06am July 29 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closures and lane closures for critical patching works.

A1, from midnight, August 2 to 6am October 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moorfarm to Fisher Lane. Carriageway closures, lane closure, with 24 hour speed restrictions and Lay-by closures for carriageway improvment works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
