North Tyneside road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A1, from 8pm November 3 to 6am November 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, junction 79 to Seven mile bridge, Lane closure for drainage works.

A19, from 8pm November 6 to 6am December 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, carriageway closures, slip road closures and lane closures for carriageway resurfacing.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm November 9 to 5am November 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound. Holystone, Lane closure for maintenance works.

A19, from 8pm November 16 to 6am November 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
